Update: Kiya has been adopted.

Kiya is a gorgeous purebred chocolate girl sadly in need of a new home due to her owner's work schedule. This 2 year old beauty is a great housedog, loves people, and gets along with other dogs. She loves outdoor activities, walks very well on leash, and her hobbies include fetching sticks, swimming and going to the beach. She knows her name and comes when called and likes to watch TV! Kiya is begin fostered by the parents of her owner and is available for adoption through Wild Heir Lab Rescue. Kiya is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed.

Norman

Update:

Norman is a gorgeous, smiling 6 year old boy who's looking for someone to love! He is laid back, AKC registered and knows basic commands and leash skills. He really enjoys going for long walks, riding in the car and just hanging out. He gets along with small and big dogs and ADORES children of all ages (even little bitty ones!) Norman is your typical chilled out, happy, goofy, not-a -rocket-scientist Labby in need of a new home through no fault of his own. He is being fostered by a family member of his owner and is available for adoption through Wild Heir Lab Rescue. Norman is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and neutered.

Sadie

Sadie is an AKC registered, 9 year old beauty who is looking for a new home that LOVES Labs. She is good with older kids, other dogs and cats. We are recommending her to a home with older children only because she has a bit of arthritis in her hips and would be more comfortable in a home with kids who were not pulling or climbing on her.

She is a wonderful laid back housedog who walks well on leash, comes when called, knows basic commands and is just an all around very good girl! Sadie is begin fostered by a family member of her owner, and is available for adoption through Wild Heir Lab Rescue. Sadie is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed.

Trot for the Cure 2010

The 2010 Trot for the Cure benefit is scheduled for January 10, 2010 at Magnolia Plantation. Pre-registration is $25 and includes a shirt if you register before December 23, 2009. Registration the day of the event is $30.

The Trot for the Cure is an annual fundraiser for canine cancer research held at beautiful and historic Magnolia Gardens near Charleston, S.C.

It consists of walking your dog through historic Magnolia Plantation and Gardens; entertainment by the Dixie Dancing Dogs who perform dance and tricks routines; a talk on canine cancer by nationally renowned oncologist at UGA, Nicole Northrup followed by a Q&A session with a panel of veterinary specialists - neurologist, ophthalmologist, internist and general practitioner; a delicious barbecue; and a raffle ends the fun. A tax deductible donation of $25/person includes all the above, plus a long sleeved Trot t-shirt, if the entry is received before the deadline. Attending dogs receive goodie bags while they last.

The 2010 Trot for the Cure will also feature a talent show

Does your dog have talent? Do you like to show off his or her special tricks? Can your dog dance? If the answer to any of these questions is "yes," we have just the fun event for you at the Trot this year! Sign up with your dog to showcase his or her creativity.

Unlike people, animals have no fundraising drives, no cancer survivor spokespersons, and no special events to bring their plight to the spotlight. Until now! To date the event has brought in over $65,000.00 for cancer research. Around 300 people and over 200 dogs typically attend each one. The Trot for the Cure has become one of the premier dog events in the area, and is unique in its format. Scientists need continual funding for their valuable work in finding better treatments and cures for cancers in dogs. Enjoying an afternoon at the Trot with your dog and dog friends is a fun way to help them further this important work. All proceeds go to the University of Georgia's Arch Foundation for GA CaRES Fund at the University of Georgia Veterinary Hospital where many Lowcountry pets are referred for treatments.

To register, download the registration form and send it in.
