Violet

Miss Violet - or 'Boof Boof' as the gals at Fetch Doggy Day Care call her because she barks twice when she's excited! - is getting in the Halloween spirit! Boof Boof is spending Halloween weekend with her pals at Fetch while her foster mom is on vacation. She would love to find her 'furever' home for the holidays!

Bo

Update: Bo has been adopted.

Bo is in every sense of the phrase a gentle giant. He absolutely loves getting attention and will do anything for a scratch behind the ear or a pat on the back. Bo is adjusting wonderfully to being an inside dog, but still is working on understanding when its time to play and when its time to relax. For the first week we had Bo he did not lay down at all until he was put into his crate at night. Now, Bo is learning to lay patiently when his humans are busy doing other things. Bo is obsessed with anything round, especially tennis balls. Bo is great at retrieving tennis balls and then dropping it at your feet for you to throw again for him. He is also doing really well on his leash, he pulls a little at the beginning of a walk but after he settles down, he walks GREAT on the leash with very little correction. Bo is very easily excited by ANY kind of attention, you just have to look at him and he will start wagging his tail. Currently, Bo is around 85-90 pounds and is still a little under weight, so he'll probably be around 95-100 or more pounds once he puts some more weight on....you can see all of his ribs now! Bo would be great for an active couple or someone that is looking for an excellent companion. We have only had him about two weeks, but it is already apparent that he is extremely loyal and wants to do anything to please his "Pack leader". Bo does well with other dogs, but he seems to be more interested in playing with humans than other dogs. Bo has not interacted with any children, but because of his size, I would guess that he might be too rough with little kids because he gets SO excited about EVERYTHING and could knock them over! Bo is a wonderful lab and would make a great friend for anyone, he is ready for his forever home.

Betty Jo

Betty Jo is a sweet and great natured Black Lab that would make an awesome addition to any family. She has been around children and dogs of all ages and is always gentle and kind. She is difficult to photograph because as soon as you say her name, she wants to be close to you and will scoot herself forward until she is touching you. She enjoys relaxing, snuggling, walks, and trips to the dog park. She is crate trained, housebroken, and almost through the stage of chewing shoes and slippers. She does not get on furniture unless invited, and will go into her crate for bed without a peep until morning. She is not a big lab so she can still fit into your lap for snuggle time.

Oh no! Junior is missing!

Update: Junior is back!

Junior is back! Thank you everyone for your concern. He was hiding out under a utility trailer several houses down from where Dakota was run over. I got a call this morning from a neighbor saying she saw my flyer and that a scared dog was hiding out in their back yard. He was so traumatized that he didn't recognize me at first and barked. It took a minute of talking to him and then he came out, tackled me, licked my face and wagged his tail. He is so happy to be home!

Junior has gone missing in the Shadowmoss area!

Last night Dakota was hit by a car. It spooked Junior and he ran off. Dakota has been to the emergency vet and she will recover. We've searched and called for Junior for hours since the moment it happened. I'm hoping he's hiding somewhere safe, but I'm worried sick about him. He was wearing his indoor collar without his tags.

If you happen to spot Junior, please contact us! Junior isn't wearing his ID tags, but is microchipped. If you find him, you can also take him to any vet where they can scan him and get in touch with us.

Saturday, October 10th is Daniel Island Park Day from 11-5 at Children's Park on Daniel Island. It's another great event that can result in more of our Labs finding their "furever" home.

A fall tradition in Charleston, Daniel Island's Park Day is an entertaining day of events, field games, food and live music for the entire family. This popular Lowcountry festival has evolved into one of Charleston's broadest scope charitable events, raising money and awareness for more than 20 area non-profit organizations. The day features a line-up of entertainment and events in a waterfront setting overlooking the Wando River.
