Update: Sherman has been adopted.
Hi - I'm Sherman! I'm about 9 years old and the nice people at Daisy's Place/Wild Heir saved me from the gas chamber at a really scary place called a shelter. I don't know why I ended up there, I'm really a great dog - I'm sweet and loving, very low maintenance, I love everyone - both two and four legged alike. I'm very good on my leash, I never have accidents in the house and I really just want to love and be loved. My foster mom says my ears are like velvet, I love it when she pets me and then I roll over so she can rub my tummy! I also really like car rides - and I recently flew in something called an airplane, I rode in the back seat right behind the pilot and looked out the window the whole way - that's how I got to Charleston, a nice man with Pilots N Paws brought me to safety with Daisy's Place/Wild Heir!

My joints are a little creaky and sometimes I get wobbly, so the vet is giving me supplements and I'm working on building my strength with nice slow daily walks. If you want a loving companion who is happy to see you when you come home and doesn't need any training - I'm your guy! I love my foster mom, but I'm ready for my own forever home, and then my foster mom can help save another old soul like me.

Sherman/Beau is doing great on his overnight! He's looking forward to seeing his buds at the dog show tomorrow.
Sherman is back to his old name, Beau. He's happy as a clam in his new forever home with Dave, Alison and Josh. Beau is the best friend anyone could ever ask for. If your thinking of adopting, please don't put it off any longer, these guys make great companions.
At first I thought we were doing Beau a favor, but I now realize we're the ones that have benefited the most. Thanks to everyone involved in making this possible!
The Davison Clan
Many thank yous to the Davison clan for adopting Beau. He's a wonderful fellow. It was my privilege to be his foster Mom. Thank you for taking care of him. I'm confident he's with the right family!!! Rub those ears for me!
I am so happy to hear that my sweet Beau is in such a perfect home! Thanks to this wonderful old guy, I not only was blessed by having him in my life for a very short time, I have been blessed to become a part of Daisy's Place. It is a wonderful feeling when we can save and get these wonderful old dogs into a great forever home!
Thank you Melissa, and the Davison Clan.
Please give him a huge hug and kiss for me!!!
Beau Update:
Beau has been petted, ears rubbbed, kissed, and generally loved nonstop since we got him. I thank he actually looks forward to us going to work so he can sleep all day. He's quite a character, he's acutally wagging his tail alot now and playing a little when he gets excited. His favorite thing to do (besides eating) is laying on the floor and nuzzling with whoever is lucky enough to be there. Man that feels good!
The supplements seem to be improving his gait.He actually went swimming (a little) in a heated pool last week.
Thanks to Sabrina for taking the time to help the old guy out. It was obvious that someone had been taking good care of Beau before us.
Thanks to Sharon who fostered/mothered him and then let us share in the joy (she even packed individual packets of dog food and green beans/chicken for his sleep over).
Thanks to Melissa for giving so freely of her time to make this all possible.
Sharon, Melissa told me that you had been feeding Beau Innova brand dog food but I can't find the same kibble that you sent with him. Can you give me any more details?
Peace,
Dave, Alison and Josh
Hi Dave. Thank you so much for the wonderful update on Beau. We are blessed to have you join our Wild Heir/Daisy's Place family. I have a smile in my heart knowing that Beau is surrounded by so much love! Thanks to you and so many others who have opened their hearts and homes to these precious souls, we have found forever homes for twelve (12) older Labbys this year already! As many of you know, there is no love that compares with the love of an older rescue dog - one look in their eyes says it all!
Many blessings,
Melissa
PS I think Sharon got the Innova from Doolittle's in West Ashley. If they don't have it, they should be able to order it for you.
